What Is an Out of Office Message

When you are out of the office, you can set an automatic response message in Outlook to let people know when you will return and how to reach you.  If you are working remotely, set your message to let people know your contact information and the best way to reach you. You can even include a personal note, like whether you are checking email during your time away. If you use Microsoft Exchange Server, your out of office message will be sent automatically to people outside your organization (like clients or customers) who send you mail. When you set up an out of office message in Outlook, choose what kind of messages you want to respond to and for how long your message will be active. Be sure to turn off your out of office message when you return to the office!
